Sauna - Weight Loss

Weight loss using a far infrared LuxSpa sauna!

Weight loss is a natural bi-product of using the far infrared LuxSPA saunas. You find that you easily lose as much as 4-5 pounds in just one 30-minute session. Expect to regain much of the water weight back by drinking (a significant) amount of water – immediately.

NOTE: I recommend you drink about 2.5 liters per session. Make sure its GOOD water and you should add powder supplements (see detox recipe) to (very quickly) enhance your health and regain the GOOD minerals that you’ll sweat out – in addition to EXPELLING massive amounts of the acidic nasty, disease causing toxins. See my detox recipe to make sure your adding the appropriate nutrients. It doesn’t taste great, but it doesn’t taste bad, you get used to it especially since your hot, sweating and it’s so very valuable… and well worth it. To not drink plenty of water is not healthy.

However, the calories expended during this session will NOT be regained.

LuxSpas infrared heating technology goes deep into the body; literally causing you to perspire and melt away fat.

In Guyton's Textbook of Medical Physiology, we find that producing one gram of sweat requires 0.568 kcal. The Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) states; "A moderately conditioned person can easily sweat off 500 grams in a sauna, consuming nearly 300 kcal, which is equivalent to running 2 ~ 3 miles. A heat-conditioned person can easily sweat off 600 ~ 800 kcal with no adverse effects.

While the weight of the water loss can be regained by drinking water, the calories consumed in the sweating process will not be replenished by the intake of water. So, in other words, profuse sweating like that delivered by a LuxSPA Far Infrared Sauna burns calories and promotes weight loss. Since a Far Infrared LuxSPA Sauna helps generate two or three times the sweat produced in a hot-air sauna, the implications for increased caloric consumption are quite impressive. Assuming "a sauna", as mentioned in JAMA, to last for 30 minutes, some interesting comparisons might be drawn. Two of the highest calorie-consuming forms of exercises are rowing and marathon running. Peak output on a rowing machine or running during a marathon run burns about 600 calories in 30 minutes. A Far Infrared LuxSPA Sauna may match this effect in a 30-minute session, burning an estimated 600 calories, and this can be enhanced in a longer session to as much as 900 or more calories expelled. Thought of in another way, a 30- to 60- minute session in a LuxSPA Sauna could simulate the consumption of energy equal to that expanded in a 6 to 9 mile run during only a single spa session.

Thus, a Far Infrared LuxSPA can play a pivotal role in both weight control and cardiovascular conditioning. This would be very valuable for those who don't exercise and those who can't exercise yet want an effective weight control and fitness maintenance program and the benefits of a regular exercise. Combined with a regular exercise program for those who can participate, using a LuxSPA Sauna not only delivers twice the calorie-eliminating and cardiovascular benefits, it can also relieve and eliminate the aches, pains and injuries often associated with rigorous exercise regimes.

Here are how many calories a 150-pound person normally burns up in 30 minutes of exercise:

SPORT CALORIES
Rowing (peak effort) 600
Swimming (crawl stroke) 300
Jogging 300
Tennis (fast game) 265
Chopping Wood 265
Cycling (10mph) 225
Golfing (without a cart) 150
Walking (3.5mph) 150
Bowling 120
Vigorous Racquet Ball 510
Marathon Running 593

As an added benefit ,many weight loss authorities believe that our bodies store fat to use as a cleansing agent that can dilute toxins that build up in the body. The use of Far Infrared LuxSPA Sauna technology releases toxins naturally through increased blood flow and profuse sweating, and therefore the fat, now unnecessary for detoxification, and which is also eliminated in the sauna process, is released and its body storage decreased. Fat loss, of course, promotes permanent weight loss and control.
